Focus and Distraction Control

  • 7 Steps

About

Most athletes know what it feels like to lose focus mid-competition — to find their mind replaying a mistake, drifting to the scoreboard, or caught up in what an opponent is doing. What's less obvious is that refocusing is a skill, not a personality trait. And like every other skill, it can be trained. Focus & Distraction Control is a five-module sport psychology program for athletes at every level who want to build a more reliable, practiced relationship with their attention — so that when distractions hit, and they always do, they have a clear and automatic response. Across five modules, you'll learn how attention actually works under pressure, map your personal distraction profile and the triggers that pull your focus most reliably off course, and build a toolkit of evidence-based refocus strategies — including a personal cue word sequence and the Quick PIC framework for getting back in the moment quickly and consistently. Each module includes a written lesson, interactive activities, and a downloadable workbook — everything you need to do the work, not just read about it. This program includes approximately 3-4 hours of self-paced content spread across five modules — designed to be worked through over days or weeks, not all at once.
